Chalet Silène is a lovely well equipped duplex apartment in Chamonix, in an excellent location for easy access around Chamonix, at the foot of the Bossons Glacier, and Mont Blanc. It is approx 5 mins drive to the ski lifts. Located in a quiet neighbourhood of Chamonix, the chalet would be particularly good for anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing place from which to soak up some of the best scenery that Chamonix has to offer. The apartment is well equipped with a full sized kitchen with Oven, Microwave, Toaster, Coffee machine, and mixer. There are TVs in the living area (with DVD player) and upstairs in Bedroom 2, WiFi and a good supply of board games and DVDs. There is also a washing machine.
The apartment is on two floors, the main floor has living area, kitchen, master bedroom, master bathroom and under stair storage, while on the mezzanine there is the second bedroom which is en suite, and accessed off it is a small third bedroom, which is built into the sloping roof.
The second bedroom is a good size, chalet style, part built into the sloping roof. Outside the second bedroom is the mezzanine balcony overlooking the living area, where there is a fourth single bed.
There are plenty of storage cupboards in the various rooms.
The apartment is located on the first floor and has communal parking immediately outside, and a private designated parking space in the underground car park, which can also be used for bike storage. There is also a designated ski locker
The Chalet is located in a small development of chalets in a quiet neighbourhood and we encourage guests to be mindful of that environment and to keep noise levels to a minimum after 10pm.
There is lots to do in Chamonix all year round and the chalet is in an excellent location to access the valley. While Chamonix is best known for Summer and Winter activities, autumn colours can be very beautiful, as well as the vibrancy of the Spring.
The Bossons Glacier, one of the longest Glaciers in Europe at over 7.5km, is about 5 mins walk and makes a fantastic hike. There are several routes to follow which lead to the Glacier and then on to Mont Blanc itself. The Chalet is in effect Mont Blanc Base Camp.
