Negative: I booked this B&B in a hurry because I arrived late in the evening and didn't have time to read the previous reviews carefully. Maybe I missed something, but I specifically filtered for en-suite rooms. Instead, I was given a room with a small bathroom shared with two or three other rooms. Perhaps there is one en-suite room on the property, but it certainly wasn't the one I was assigned. Finding the property after dark was also more difficult than expected because there is no illuminated sign. The owner had sent me directions via WhatsApp, but I didn't have a chance to read them before arriving. The room had no wardrobe or any other storage space, and the window faced the main road connecting the neighboring town, so in the morning there was some traffic noise. The shower has only a curtain, so you need to be careful not to flood the bathroom. Cooking smells from the kitchen also drift up into the bedrooms. A fan is provided, which is appreciated, but having a bed made with a duvet—even a lightweight one—in August doesn't make for the most comfortable night's sleep. The owner places a strong emphasis on cleanliness, asking guests to leave their shoes at the entrance and wear the slippers provided. There was also a note beside the bed warning of extra charges for sheets stained with blood or other substances. While I understand the reasons behind these policies, together they made the atmosphere feel more restrictive than welcoming. The price is low, but for the same amount I would have preferred the anonymity and straightforward experience of a budget chain hotel. Overall, the management style felt more like staying in a mountain hostel than in a suburban bed and breakfast. Based on my experience, I also found the property's overall review score difficult to reconcile with what I encountered during my stay. I had expected a significantly different standard given the rating.
