Summary: A pleasantly surprising stay in the Saumur/ Doué-la-Fontaine area of the Loire. This property while modern is a gem, we benefited from a comfortable clean and pleasant family room, with a window opening up onto their rear garden area. Woke up to birdsong and quiet , and a great breakfast in their large conservatory. Service excellent and helpful. Only point of note is if you wish to dine in their partner (next door) restaurant , best to reserve in advance , as it was fully booked (despite being almost empty!) at 630pm. But- more choice available in nearby Doué-la-Fontaine about 10 mins drive . Would thoroughly recommend this family run hotel as a stop-off on the long drive south from Calais, or for short excursions into the Saumur area.
