The villa is located in a quiet but not isolated position surrounded by local vineyards and only a 2 minute drive/ 15 minute walk from the a picturesque village of Rognes. Unlike the villages in the Luberon, Rognes is more of a traditional village off the beaten track with fewer tourists. The property is ideal not only for families in the school holidays but also for those wanting a tranquil holidays out of high season. It is at the centre of so many attractions facilitating easy day trips before coming back to relax by the pool or on the terrace.
It is 19 km from Aix en Provence and situated only 10 minutes away from the Luberon National Park and approximately 1 hour or less from the Camargue, Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Gap, Gorge Verdon and the coast etc. Two attractions specifically for children are within a 20 minute drive, the Zoo de Barben and Le Village des Automates at Saint Cannat.
The villa is well equipped with TV (French channels only), wifi, DVD and video player, high chair, cot and steriliser. Fans are provided in each room as the villa does not have air conditioning. It is in enclosed grounds of approximately 1.5 acres that are strimmed but mainly left as a wild Provencal garden. All the villas nearby have similar sized plots so you are not on top of each other. It has an 'outside kitchen' on the terrace with a BBQ and sink. There is ample parking space including a car shelter for two cars.
The heated pool is private measuring 10mx5m. It is completely fenced with a safety gate. (However, please always supervise children and ensure that the gate is closed when the pool is not in use.)
It is easy to get to by air (Marseilles Airport with BA and EasyJet - 45 minutes), train (Aix TGV station 35 minutes/ Avignon TGV station 45 minutes) and road (nearest motorway junction at Senas 30 minutes away).
The village has a small supermarket, pharmacy, several bread shops, butcher and doctor. There is a market every Wednesday morning. The nearest town is Lambesc that contains three supermarkets and has a market on Tuesday and Fridays. There is a hyper market at Les Milles (20 mins drive) on the D9 just outside Aix.
