Positive: The house was easy to find thanks to the excellent communication and information provided by the host. The concierge (Nadine) who met us and showed us around the property was friendly and helpful. The property is very well laid out, modern, clean and spacious, is very well equipped and easy to keep clean and maintain - we wanted for nothing during our stay. Electric shutters on all downstairs windows and patio doors make the property very secure. Parking for two cars is provided with easy access to the house. We especially appreciated the shower and bath we had access to (plenty of hot water) and the petanque court and games equipment. The WiFi connection is fast. The neighbourhood is very quiet with about a twenty minute walk to the centre of Houlgate and the sea. Communual waste and recycling bins are located at the end of the street about three minutes walk away. The host has provided plenty of leaflets and information on places to visit. We were unable to take advantage of the wonderful rooftop balcony and sating area as the weather was variable. We used the electric barbecue and did eat outside on the large external family table but did not need to use the sun canopy! At the end of our week's stay, Nadine was spot on time for the handover so we could reluctantly begin our journey home.

Negative: The house was great for us as a family group of five, four adults and one nine year old child with plenty of table space and seating for meals. However, to make things absolutely perfect, one more easy chair in the lounge area would make for greater comfort when a party of 5+ are using that area at the same time.

Summary: Wonderful stay in a spacious and well equipped house in elegant Houlgate!
